Young Audiences provides over 70,000 arts experiences annually resulting in children having increased engagement in school and further developing analytics and emotional skills required in our 21st century workforce.

“Because of our work with Young Audiences, we have seen improved behavior, stronger attendance rates, increased student engagement, higher level of creativity, improvements in literacy skills, higher test scores in mathematics, as well as increased self-confidence in public speaking and performing. Waterfront Elementary has a high poverty, at risk, diverse student body. By working with Young Audiences in school and after-school programming, we are able to meet all the needs of our students, including our population of English Language Learners. This unique arts integration partnership with Young Audiences is crucial to the success of our students artistically, academically, and socially.”

– Kate Paolini, Assistant Principal, PS 95 Waterfront Elementary School

“The variety of artist and activities has provided participants with new and exciting activities for themselves that their families to enjoy. We enjoy Young Audiences program so much that we have begun incorporating workshops into our staff professional development training.”

– Gary Damon, Jr., NYS Senior Site Director, Center for Employment Opportunities

“The arts can play such an important role in education. They spark the child’s interest, engage the children, and let them shine. Our school has been affiliated with YAWNY for many years and we thank them for offering such wonderful programming for our students. We now schedule specific Arts-in-Education residencies connected to ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Math in grades UPK to 12 throughout the Holland Central School District. Teachers and students embrace the programming. They see how it has enriched their curricula and allows students to connect and learn in new and unique ways.”

– Susan Mikula, Art Department Chairman/Arts-in-Ed Coordinator, Holland Central School

“I have been in Young Audiences programs since I was in the fifth grade. As a paid apprentice with ArtWorks I have met so many new people, developed my public speaking skills, and have become more comfortable with different types of people and learned to appreciate their working spaces. This summer makes it the third year I would be with ArtWorks. I will be forever grateful for all the skills this program has helped me develop.”

– Tahynnis, Student participant in ArtWorks, 2018
