A writing workshop adaptable to existing classroom studies or grade-level curriculum. The class’ s basic framework includes presentation of poetic tools, such as metaphor and alliteration, followed by a class discussion of the day’ s theme, reading short pieces, writing time with one-on-one encouragement, and the presentation of student work. Visual prompts are used to foster a sense of play. This workshop can be expanded into a multi-session residency.
