Both students and staff love Kevin’s state-of-the-art show! With a concert feel and an incredible light show, he sings, plays guitar, and uses backing tracks for a full-band sound. His show is cool & fun, his message is interactive and inspiring, and his songs are fresh and upbeat!
A full-time, professional musician for over 14 years, he’s entertained audiences all over the country. A four-time winner at the Buffalo Music Awards, Kevin was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2009. He was high school football coach for 7 years at Lancaster and also a wellness educator for a large HMO before leaving to pursue his dream of performing music and entertaining as his career. He’ s an ideal role model, combining his ability to relate to and inspire young people with the key messages of his programs. Kevin’s wife, Natalie, is a first grade teacher and they have 3 children ages 13, 9 & 4.
“We can’t thank you enough for an amazing time for our students here at Washington West Elementary in Olean, NY. Students are still talking about it – the light show and how much fun they had! It was an absolutely phenomenal show. We had no idea what to expect and we couldn’t have imagined something so incredible. I enclosed thank you cards from our school and I hope to do this again in the future” – Jen Hendrickson – RN & Assembly Coordinator for this Event – January 2012
As they interact with the artist in this exciting performance, students learn what the phrase "believe in yourself" really means. They'll sing, think and be inspired by McCarthy's interactive, fresh performance.
McCarthy, a former high school football coach and a wellness educator for a large HMO, combines his love of music and his extensive wellness background for this engaging program. Using his guitar, performance skills and original songs, McCarthy inspires students with practical information on health and wellness. With its easy-to-follow health solutions, the program is a valuable response to this country's rising childhood obesity rates.
How do you make learning about wellness cool, fun, and easy to understand? Students will leave ready to take charge of their personal well-being using the artist's energizing, enjoyable suggestions.
While students don't have to decide their exact life path now, they are at an age where they can try and experience many new things. It's a great time for them to learn not only how to set goals, but also understand how to best improve by practicing and doing a little everyday. (Jackie Evancho decided she wanted to pursue singing after seeing a musical when she was 8, she started taking lessons and practicing everyday. By the time she was 10, she had developed her voice to point of international acclaim.)
In this highly motivating show, Kevin encourages students to begin to think about what they enjoy doing and they can begin their journey toward their goals and dream today! When students understand how to be successful at just about anything they put their minds to, it will set them on a path that will build self-esteem, motivate them to work harder in school, and help build enthusiasm for learning.
Most of the highly successful people today started working toward their dreams & goals at a very young age. Most, if not all success is not due to luck. It' s a combination of inspiration, preparation, determination, and hard work. It starts with defining your dreams & goals. Then, you can begin your journey towards reaching them. There are things you can do everyday to acquire knowledge and develop skills that you can use your whole life!
