LARRY MOSS, Creative Director of Airigami, began his career 25 years ago as a NYC street performer, but has gone on to display his amazing air-filled art in 12 countries on four continents. His achievements have been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, CNN Headline, PBS, Smithsonian Magazine, American Profile and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Moss has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, NBC’s “Today” and at the White House, and has held the Guinness World Record for the largest non-round balloon sculpture since 2000. Larry is the author of many published ballooning books and founder of BalloonHQ.com, a resource that services the balloon industry and communicates with over a half-million visitors annually. Larry also has a degree in applied math and computer science, as well as a master’s in elementary education.  Building community through his large-scale art creations is of particular interest to Larry, and was the focus of his 2009 TEDx talk in Rochester, NY.johnwolfson_large

For Magical JOHN WOLFSON, the show began years ago when he became fascinated with entertaining. In 1995 at the age of six, John commandeered his older sister’s magic kit. It wasn’t long before he was performing. Today, John performs at hundreds of public events and private celebrations every year. He focuses on using interactive magic, comedy, and balloons. Working with Airigami for a couple of years, he has been able to bring his performances to even more audiences throughout Western New York.

How to Catch a Mouse: Simple Machines at Work

Add to Wishlist
Accomplished balloon artist and educator Larry Moss or his colleague and magician John Wolfson introduces concepts about the nature and structure of simple machines by constructing a Rube Goldberg-style mousetrap intended to solve the problem of a mouse on the loose. Many student volunteers are used to aid in the construction of this working machine. Student knowledge of how machines work and their eagerness to set their trap in motion make this an enjoyable show for everyone involved.
