Hill Brothers
The Hill Brothers, individually known as Jerry Raven, Judd Sunshine, Dave Ruch and Susan Rozler, began performing for children and families in 1977 for Young Audiences of Western New York.
Two or more of them provide the programs for Young Audiences at any one time.
Raven has been performing since the 1960s. He plays a 12-string guitar with the group. Jerry' s career includes television, radio, concerts, coffeehouses and recording in addition to arts-in-education performances, workshops and residencies.
Sunshine is a self-taught musician from the New York City area. He plays bluegrass and old time music, and brings an energetic performance style on electric and acoustic string bass and vocals. He runs an entertainment booking agency, and performs at many different venues throughout the area.
Ruch is a multi-instrumentalist with over 20 years' experience. He is now a full-time arts-in-education professional, performing with the Hill Brothers and in his own workshop series. Dave has played with a number of local and nationally known artists, and appeared in venues from Toronto to Austin.
Susan Rozler is the newest "Hill Brother," a.k.a. "Sister Susie Hill." She is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, voice talent, recording artist, comedian, music teacher, mother, grandmother, gardener and environmentalist with over 20 years in the entertainment business.
