Taikoza has participated in numerous Asian Festivals, including Cherry Blossom Festivals in The Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Washington, D.C. and the Beale Street Festival in Memphis. Members of Taikoza perform regularly at corporate events (Merrill Lynch, Gillette, Ameritech, City of Los Angeles, PriceWaterhouse Coopers are examples). Outside of the US, they have toured in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, England, Japan, Canada and Mexico.
Roughly translated, Taiko means big drums, and that' s exactly what Taikoza brings: big drums, powerful rhythms, and electrifying, room-thumping energy. This exciting group draws from Japan' s rich music and performance traditions to create a highly visual experience.
Taikoza's new CD has been nominated as best Asian Ethnic Album for the Just Plain Folks Music Award. Taikoza has appeared in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, as well as on the History Channel and ESPN S.U.M.O: The Battle of the Giants. Taikoza contributed the music for the Nintendo wii game Red Steel. With colorful traditional costumes and dynamic motion, Taikoza' s shows are immensely popular with audiences of all ages.
